considering josh kerr has run 2 miles in 8 flat, 5 miles at 4:30 flat pace really shouldn't be that difficult for him. he shouldn't need pacers or any of that
His pace was exactly 28:00 10k pace, I believe. With a group of rotating pacers. I don't think there's anything to say about it. It probably belongs in the realm of one of those Joe Klecker workout threads.
Does Jakob ever do continuous 15k tempos? I was under the impression he does not.
I imagine him saying something cheeky or sort of passive aggressive like “It’s good to work on things you’re not good at.”
Kerr did a recent video on IG I think where he did a 10-mile progression 5:25 -> 4:55 . Even made a dig about no fancy testing either while pointing to his head. Much different systems, that’s for sure.

revels in his ignorance
ignorance that allowed him to beat Jakob in the Olympics lol. This is a hater thread.

use pacers
and learn how to draft while you're at it
even practice with a couple of guys changing positions
i mean, where are you going to get skills to run and navigate a field?
are your learnings to navigate going to come from what? an hour or two of total running in races? per year?
i notice that people are training clockwise and counter clockwise, that is a good move, there are imbalances you do not want running counter clockwise all the time.
developing something called athletic skills, raises the bar
i mean, in every sport, a great amount of practice involves plays with other athletes involved, as the very basic.
in track, they maybe three guys run predictably behind one another, and that's it. this is very bizarre if you think in context with ALL other multi-person interaction sports.

It was just a mediocre TT. He didn’t need pacers or to make a YouTube video of it.
He would say "that's not a bad pace to go out in for a 15k tempo."

No, Jakob doesn´t run long tempo runs. His long runs are for recovery and going at easy pace which possibly is somewhere between 3 and 3.5 min. per km.

Even if it was just a mediocre time trial, why would you not want to see what a world class miler can do for longer distance? I mean are you even a fan of the sport?

exactly. 4:30 flat should be his 10 mile race pace. That should be just another day at the office for him, not something that needs pacers and a youtube video and a backwards hat etc
