Why is Ayildiz leading!? It’s great for Nielsen I guess.
Terrible tactics for ayyildiz. Really choppy race overall, i thought foerster should be dq’d at first for aggressively shoving appleton which i think affected her race, but when i rewatched riggins had shoved her like a pinball and she was forced into appleton. Dirty racing by riggins again.
Axelina Johansson (Paris Olympics 10th Sweden) defeats Jaida Ross (Paris Olympics 4th and Bowerman finalist) on final attempt in shot put
I didn't see that swift 28.51 close from Scatchard coming. Nielsen too strong for the field, w/ an assist from Silan. Dunno what happened to Appleton.
another smart race by Congdon - just hung on the rail ahead of all the bumping and pushing behind her and hung on. reminded me of her Olympic trials, you kinda forget she's even there for most of the race.
Poster above has it, Appleton got pinballed hard in the aftermath of a dicey move by Riggins. That close was impressive, I thought Congdon was pretty safe, she ran a very good race. I wish Nielsen was running the 1500 at World Indoors. Don’t think she’s as competitive in the 800.
Ducks score 31 points in 10 minutes. Is the team race over?

Insane recovery from Paige almost falling and then holding on to win from the front in a loaded field that was great
That was pretty amazing. It was like a balance beam recovery in the middle on an 800. Her center of gravity went so far forward I am still not certain how she stayed up. I am glad she was able to win.

The other aspect is I know being an 800m frontrunner has cost Rose in the past but indoors it is a distinct advantage. I don’t think her coaches should’ve scrapped it but instead worked on her pacing of it.
Not sure what Rose is doing. Something about the (former) front running strategy clearly spooked her, but she is not a natural pack runner at all. Just all over the place moving up and down, running wide etc - you’re never going to have enough energy to win in the final 200 vs the front of the field especially in slower races - we see this time after time.
Arguably the most talent but this race strategy needs a rethink. Interested to see how outdoors goes for her.

Jallow, Rose etc. all seem to think the best frontrunning strategy is to just try to PB in every race with a blazing first 400. I guess that’s how Mu ran. In reality they could watch 30 Duguma/Moraa frontrunning races (not Comm Games vs Keely) and see how to do it.

That clemson runner nearly took out the entire 800m field several times. No sense of spatial awareness. Proceeded to push the last 3 scorers out to lane 3/4 in the final stretch (got passed for DFL).
