To answer another poster, no, a shoe doesn’t have to available to the general public anymore. They are allowed a “developmental” period of one year but can’t be worn at WA championships or Olympic Games during that period. A quick google search of what? They are listed on the world athletics approved shoes list. Look up the shoe finder. Look up “Development Shoe 6X.” That is the shoe that was worn. Adams has a full New Balance sponsorship which includes being sent prototypes. And when a shoe is approved, that means it meets the stack height requirement, in case you were confused.
And you better get off letsrun and get back to studying. I hear that classes at Mines are tough.

I genuinely don’t know what you want to happen. “What is right” is opposite to the “pressure of the old guard”? And the old guard presumably wants super shoes banned, or at least illegal stack height super shoes. So ”what is right” is letting the results stand, despite them having broken the rules?

When this shoe is flying off the shelves in 2 months everyone complaining about it is going to feel very stupid. You think New Balance is making an illegal shoe at all?! Of course not.
Also, watch D1’s tomorrow. I would guess Adams isn’t the only New Balance school who got this shoe.
Like who really thinks New Balance said “let’s make an illegal shoe and send it to D2 Nationals only!”
Every way you make an argument there are so many holes. This is so dumb. The officials botched this by even questioning it. In 2025 no company is going to make an illegal spike and send it to their teams. They stand to lose so much, most of all the trust of their consumers. You think Adams State is going to have their best athlete wear an illegal shoe knowing he’s going to get a thousand pictures taken of him this weekend? For being “helluva engineer” y’all sure don’t have much common sense.
It is kind of a joke that Adams gets prototype spikes and is pretty much a pro team and then goes after Mines runners for being smart and going to classes. Everyone just needs to grow up. It's D2 distance running it's not that deep.
