i'm seeing those photos and i'm still worried about her
She isn't really any leaner than some of the Kenyan women who have managed to put together a bunch of healthy seasons. But with recovering from a femoral stress fracture it is a bit concerning.

no those African women are tiny but powerful and not bony. Fiona, on the other hand, looks objectively exhausted, gaunt, and has late 20s acne (despite no apparent history of finicky skin at a younger age) which is often a sign hormones are out of whack due to RED-S.
This is wrong. She is obviously still sick. Alistair is being paid by Puma and is ignoring this young woman’s health. If she runs well it is irrelevant. People will act like everything is okay and that is wrong. This is abuse and it is wrong.
Jeez, do any of you guys think for a second that O'Keeffe might actually see, or hear about these comments? Because, they're really pretty nasty. It's hard to see them as anything other than malicious because you ant possibly think anything positive will come from them

they are out of concern more than chastisement.
i'm surprised the puma team even posted these.
I thought the comments might have been over-reacting but yikes...this poor woman is not well
does anyone know what shoe she uses for her track work. In the photos it appears to be the Deviate, but not sure. I can see the shoe of one of her male (?) pacers, and he is wearing the Fast-R, anyone have experience with that shoe, especially on the track?

The word around Chapel Hill is that her coaches and Puma have been trying to get her to take better care of herself, but she doesn’t listen. Not saying that Alistair is completely without fault, but I’ve heard that this is mostly on her.

I hear you, but you also have to understand how important it is to call it when you see it. That doesn’t mean saying nasty things about Fiona, but it does mean breaking historical silences around frail women “succeeding” in the sport.

If someone has an eating disorder, they can't make this decision for themselves. They literally have disordered thinking regarding eating. If Fiona is ill, then Puma needs to do the right thing and say "you need to get treatment, which we will pay for, or your sponsorship is done," like Brooks did with Allie Ostrander

I doubt there is a clause in her contract, that would allow Puma to do that.
The comments are not nasty, everyone can see she looks more gaunt and unhealthy than before. Someone close to her should be calling this out.
Yes all pro runners are going to be very light but you can tell when it’s still okay and when it’s dipped over to unwell and playing with fire. Getting super underweight may make you faster but only until you inevitably breakdown. The East African women are tiny but they're strong and healthy looking.

That 'success' is usually very brief when it comes to getting down to an unhealthy weight. That brief time was likely 2023/beginning of 2024
