I do, and I didn't even like my college days that much. I was a back-of-the pack 4:45 miler at a mediocre school, my courseload sucked (engineering major), and I had some friends but not a whole bunch.
But it definitely beats life as a older adult. My PR days are in the rear view mirror, and everyone I know can't do anything fun because they're either too busy with their kids/families, or because they're dealing with multiple chronic health conditions.
I miss those times when there were endless possibilities and an endless world to explore out there. There were exceptions, but usually, each season brought new PRs, each semester brought new opportunities to start over with different professors, and each summer was spent exploring trails that I've never run before, driving and flying to places I've never been, and trying out new activities (like skydiving and scuba diving) for the first time.
All of that is gone. Changing bosses or co-workers is way harder than changing classes, and all of the unexplored places require too much money or vacation time to get to (or are just plain dangerous or war-torn). Conversation topics amongst friends consist of childcare, home refinancing or renovations, and blood sugar levels, and not something like rafting down the Grand Canyon or catching the sunrise or sunset in a hot air balloon.
Does life get any better after 35 or so? I think the only positives are more income and eventual retirement, but I'd sell everything I have if I could be 18 again.
