Perhaps new coaching has discovered exactly how much conventional mileage her body can handle...by injuring her again.🤔
...back on the ARC.
It's not coaching. It's her biomechanics. All that time on the ARC Trainer is the reason she is fighting her body when she runs... back arched, right leaning when she fatigues, classic imbalances. I think what we will see from her is what we've been seeing - periods of dark with periods of brilliance.
Coogan was a podcast a few weeks ago, saying Valby would probably be training in Florida for much of March, “since they don’t have much going on” and she wasn’t digging the Boston weather. He also said they’ll be in Flagstaff for all of April. I don’t have any insight, but I did think it was odd that she’d be racing a 10K at the end of March, given those comments.

It sounds like Valby is calling the shots in that program. It wouldn't be a stretch to presume the other members of NBBoston are not in full agreement that a member for the club can just peace out in the winter. Check back in 24 months. The begenning of the end for that group.
But I don’t blame PV. Boston sucks for anyone that didn't grow up there and wasn't brainwashed with Dunkin. Admit it with your upvote.

Coogan also said the entire team might spend a couple weeks in Florida this month as a break from the weather. LOL
Please explain. She had raced straight through 4 years culminating in the Olympics. Conversely, the teen prodigy Tuohy has been injured more than healthy and she is getting slower. I don't understand what these dark periods for Valby are. She is always on cloud nine. She is outgoing and humble.

Valby did not compete in indoor her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. I think she ran two or three indoor races in three years. The only season she competed at indoor nationals was as a senior. Imagine how many NCAA titles she would have if she had run indoor? She certainly would have had at least one more to tie Abby D. and Amy S. with 7.

You failed critical thinking 101.
She didn't run indoor because she was injury prone, had she run more indoor she would have been injured more resulting in fewer titles, not more titles.

Don't you remember how she got faster and faster through college despite being injured? I wouldn't worry about it. Injuries don't matter as far as Valby is concerned, she will be fine.

Emily posted from Florida tonight, so maybe they’re all there.
