I was going to start a thread on this. It's quite sad to me actually. Femke LOVES track. She doesn't even do an individual indoor season but yet she shows up at Euro Indoors and splits 50.33, looking like she's jogging.
Meanwhile, New Balance, who pays Sydney millions of dollars, doesn't even bother to have SML show up and fake it at their namesake NBIGP anymore.
And yet for some reason GST signed SML as their signature athlete and are trying to get the fans to actually believe she loves competing against the best. The reality is she basically seems to hate competing, it causes her stress and didn't even go for the double or the mixed gender relay in Paris.
Yet SML is so talented - she probably will end up being the face of LA 2028 and having her Michael Johnson moment. All I hope is she learns to truly ENJOY it and realize she has a gift from GOD that should be celebrated.
Your fixation with Sydney is really strange. There are literally other athletes who don't run indoors, but is she the problem ? Plus she doesn't have to participate in NBIGP and if NB keeps paying her millions it's because they don't have a problem with it.
This comparison with Femke has to stop, because we all saw what happened in Paris. These two aren't on the same level - it's fine to win indoors, but when you can't even come up with something decent in an Olympic final or every time you face your opp it's pointless. Sydney always refers to Dalilah as her best rival and never mentions anyone else.
Syd also tries her hand at other events, but why hasn't Femke tried her hand against Paulino Nasser Nickisha in the 400m or Gabby in the 200m if she's so talented ? Nobody wants to talk about it (I'm guessing it's because this site turns a blind eye to it) but Femke only wins against nobodies and never gets out of her comfort zone (where she's not even the best, by the way). When she loses to Sydney again, this site will prefer to criticize Sydney instead of being honest about Femke. This year it's the perfect year for her to try something in the 400 maybe event the 800m

You’re missing the point. He was celebrating femkes joy of running and true love of the sport and competition. Also her emphasis on the team/country vs herself. How can you have so much hatred towards her and not acknowledge that? Sydney may be faster but that’s not the point. And who cares if you’re faster if we don’t get to enjoy it.

I have no issue with you criticizing her for not running the mixed relay but please calll out Benjamin, Hall, Holmes, etc as well.
Exactly, he literally criticized Sydney for not running the mixed relay in Paris but said nothing about Gabby, Rai, Quincy who also prioritized their event. And when Femke finished 3rd in the 400mH, he was the same one who said she shouldn't have run the relay like ???? This double standard never fails to amaze me
Sydney doesn't "have it all" because she doesn't have a love of the sport, a positive attitude about racing, a passionate fan base, or a nation who loves what she is doing (like the Dutch for Femke).
Sydney is the better runner. Femke is better in every other aspect of her pro career. I guess it just depends on what kind of athletes you like to cheer for...
