Yeah this was before doping made almost everyone Finnish looking as if they had just had a nice stroll in the park.
This was not "before doping"
To illustrate how stupid you are, if I said “this was before wearing a mask made everyone look like a common criminal,” this would not mean that I was asserting that prior to the COVID-19 pandemic mask wearing did not exist. You see how simple your mind is?
No kidding moron. But most of the stars were not doping, unlike today. How stupid are you?
Yes, they were doping. Track stars have used painkillers and opioids since the 19th century, and amphetamines since they were introduced in the late 1930s.

Acting nasty and offended won't change it
You have no idea who was using what, so stop acting like you have some special insider info. Humble yourself kid. You just make assumptions due to your lower intelligence.

Can anyone name the runner who broke the record the next day?
Stanislav Jungwirth of Czechoslovakia ran 3:38.1 the following day (I did not need to read the article). An excellent book recorded this event in 1973. Runners and Races: 1500/mile, by Cordner Nelson and Roberto Quercetani.
This post prompted me to look back at the 1500m world record progression. It looks like the longest gap between world records over the last 130+ years was seven years. It’s now been almost 27 years since El Guerrouj set the standing record 😳
