After watching the heats of the women’s 1500, I still have no idea of what they’re doing with the lights. I’m watching through BBC and Steve Cram is also clueless about it
Hopefully Jingy and Josh MF Kerr have a PPV boxing match in the works. They could double their years salary with that particular event. Maybe Houlihan vs Hiltz on the undercard. Would be must see TV.
Thomas Keen with an atrocious tactical heat lets a very boxed Jakob pass uncontested on the inside. Then he causes problem trying to pass with no room on the inside.
Looked like Cathal Doyle paid the price for it too.

Unfortunately for him there was. Just watched on replay and Jakob passed with minimal contact. You can make that claim if he had to barge through you or elbow. That’s not what happened.

Better not be a DQ. He's brother was rightly DQd a few years back but that was indoor racing.
What do you guys think of the new Norwegian kit?
Seeing Jakob Ingebrigtsen in an all red adidas singlet may have taking some getting used to, but his performance in his Euro 1500m prelim was masterclass as usual. https://t.co/lDr1xYoQYLpic.twitter.com/uf2Rl26ghy

I just watched it again. Jakob barely brushed him. Keen shouldn't have been running on the outside of lane 1 if he didn't want an inside pass. Keen almost went down more than 150m later.
That had nothing to do with Jakob unless he's going to argue that he wouldn't have been in the back and nearly tripping if he hadn't lost ground a half lap earlier?
All of that being said, if I'm as good as Jakob, I wouldn't have risked it but that was smart racing by him if you are judging it from a purely technical aspect (and not of, you are way better than everyone else - don't take any risks).

Agree with you, Rojo. A small bump on the shoulder if anything. Not even close to a DQ. I’m not sure what Keen was doing getting positioned wide there. He wasn’t going to get wide enough to pass.

I’d be a little worried that Gourley and Habz had to use more of their gears in a qualifying heat than you’d like to see. Tactically not the greatest to me for either, though maybe Jakob will make it more straightforward in the final.

It’s interesting what Gourlay was saying about how steep the banks are. Running up and round people will use precious energy. That did lead Gourlay to being a bit boxed in but then he got himself out of trouble.
Final will be interesting as they will all want to stay close to the rail.

Jakob said to NRK afterwards that he could have passed safely on the outside, but since it’s a competition it’s fun to take some chances.
