Looked like he lead a lot of the race. Great signs for the 10 in a couple of weeks. He would be the collegiate leader at 3 and 5 this year.
overhead graham talking to his coaches about possible litigation against meet mgmt. apparently he warmed up 3 hours ago.
good result, all the same.
He was paced for 2K which is actually really good. Still backing up his sub-13, he’s in great shape despite balancing school.
apparently he warmed up 3 hours prior to the actual event start, so he must have a few more seconds in the tank
someone on another thread said he's considering litigation against meet mgmt

Wouldn't shoot blanks if not poisoned by lead.
Nice performance! Looking forward to outdoor.

exactly. it's a travesty. i heard the 5k field is in tatters
A sign of the times that a very good runner like Blanks has run 7:29.72i, faster than an an amazing talent like Lagat ran indoors, and almost as fast as Lagat’s 7:29.00 outdoors.

60.24
60.29
60.03
59.91
60.00
59.90
60.04
29.31
2:30.51 - 2:29.96 - 2:29.25
With pacing to 2k, honestly couldn’t be more perfectly executed.
Fastest Collegiate 3k of all time! Put it on the books!
In line with his 12:59, much better than his 3:36. I agree, good sign he’s gonna be ready for the 10. 26:55 would be great from him, 27:05 probably on the upper end of good.

I remember in Once a Runner when Cassidy keeps track of how far the meet is behind schedule so he can time his warmup perfectly.

I remember when I did that in junior high.

Does that count if the collegian is a pro?
Fastest collegian. Don't think it counts officially, but I will count it .
Here's Jonathan's post-race interview with him which I haven't had time to listen to. Let's hope he asked him why he skipped USAs.

Has LRC been posting more interviews this year and last year, or am I just noticing it more? Either way it's great, keep it up
