Last year after USAs I posted a thread about Hoey's insane progression, considering at that point he had been hard stuck at 1:47 his entire career. Didn't get much attention, despite the fact that he went on to run 1:43 that summer.
When he ran 3:52 in the mile in December, I knew something crazy was going to happen. As far as I could (and still can) tell, the 3:52 he ran is one of the fastest indoor miles ever run in December. Guy was already one pace for something special.
Hoppel is a great racer and an even better competitor... but Hoey... he has no fear. He has a silent confidence in himself that was built up over years of non-progression that makes him dangerous. He's hungry and he's going to prove it this season.
Here are my predictions:
- World indoor gold
- Runs one GST, which he wins
- 1:41.65 in a diamond league
- 3:29.76 in a diamond league to become the first 1:41 man under 3:30
- Silver in Tokyo
