From my understanding, highly processed foods tend to lead to people massively overeating their daily caloric needs. Lots of people live in effective fresh-food deserts, where normal grocery stores options are restricted.

There has been a marked increase in chemicals (particularly PFAS) in all manner of personal products that mimic hormonal behavior in the body.

Lots of corporate profits are dependent on both of the above factors continuing just as they have been.

Without getting into RFK Jr.‘s anti-scientific nonsense, it‘ll be interesting to see if anything will actually be done about these trends under a Trump administration. Frankly, there would need to be significant government intervention into the free market — you‘d need to take on Dollar General, Walmart, etc. and tightly regulate the manufacture and sale of all manner of endocrine-active chemicals — and probably start heavily subsidising better food options in poorer rural and urban environments.

There would need to be some gigantic cultural shift away from kids developing sedentary lifestyles early.

Honestly, I suspect what will come of an RFK Jr. health administration is excess deaths due to preventable diseases due to undue vaccine skepticism and/or policies that damage effective vaccination programs… and essentially nothing else.
