Ethiopia’s Yomif Kejelcha will target another record-breaking performance at the 10K Facsa Castellón, a World Athletics Label road race, on Sunday (16).
YK doesn’t seem to have it in him to run 26:19, although I am not sure why. I suppose almost nobody can, although he is probably one of the 5 men currently active who would have a chance. I say he runs 26:35.

He’s run 26:31 on the track and 26:37 on the road, but the 12:38.95/57:30 combo indicates there’s more there imo.
Whether it’s Yomif or this year or not, I believe an insanely fast road 10k is coming soon. With road super shoes, we’ve recently seen: a woman run 13:54, a different woman run 28:46, 3 men run 57:30-57:32 in the half, and 2:09:56/2:00:35 marathons. Reading the signs, it wouldn’t surprise me if someone threatens Cheptegei’s 26:11 track WR on the roads pretty soon.
