Maybe he thought this race would ruin his preparation for grand slam lol. His goal might be to run absolutely ZERO races with pacers this year so no diamond leagues too probably lol.

Not a great look but to be fair, illnesses can suck and this is obviously not the goal of the season. I remember that his coach said that he had Covid during Eugene 2022. It can really suck the performance out of you.

The funny thing though is that we all know where Jakob would be if he was sick…still in Lievin.

Do we still see Kerr race this indoor season? I think not. He wouldn’t travel to Europe or Asia for the Championships. Maybe he runs a BU race?? We probably won’t see him open up his season until GST honestly.

At Thursday, he indicated his plan was to not race until GST. Obviously scratching a mile changes things. I think the notion of a BU mile run at Valentine's Invite is not far-fetched at all as he's done that in the past. That being said, that would involve another cross-country trip, and obviously no appearance fees at BU. Another option would be something at the University of Washington with solid local competition (Andy Powell group). I hope he does because he'd indicated he was confident in his fitness.
