Jerry was named as one of the three coaches for the new Swoosh TC. Diljeet Taylor and Mike Smith will be the other two. Looks like is going for a more flexible brand name so if one group starts to stink they can capitalize one the success of the other location
Nike is introducing Swoosh TC: a network of elite distance runners, coaches and innovators working together to push the boundaries of performance and progress at the leading edge of sport.

This could have been how to bring Brosnan into pro coaching.
Brosnan has been teasing big news for almost two years now. We’ve seen a book. Is that the big deal?
I get the feeling that finding a coaching gig at any level is proving tough. It makes me wonder if he is off-putting to corporate money types or, upon deeper questioning, they don’t think that he’s all that on the knowledge front? Maybe his success was lucking into a talent stream and California’s easy transfer rules?
Bronsan was simply blessed with some extremely talented young high school runners that would have flourished under the average coach. Yes, he's a good coach, but so are many others in this country.
To get 5 runners during a 4 year period, 3 brothers and 2 brothers, to be that good is nothing that he did. That's a gift.

With this news, can we now all move past discussing Brosnan as a viable pro coach? How many athletes have made announcements of joining teams, switching coaches and new teams forming without Brosnan being involved with any of them. Folks, it's over. Let's all agree to move on.
Also, I wonder why Mike Smith is the only one who left his collegiate coaching position for this opportunity and is honest enough to say that you can't reasonably expect to coach both a college team and pro team without leaving one or the other out to dry at times. We've seen how poorly that split has gone with Schumacher so far. Diljeet seems to have managed well enough so far. But I don't think its an ideal set up.
Agreed, too much controversy surrounding him too. He’ll continue to be relevant by coaching one off athletes here and there but I doubt a brand will ever commit to him. “4:20 isn’t fast” will forever be his legacy

Nike has finally gone all in on altitude. this gives athletes flexibility where they want to live and train, and for those who just want to use Flag or Provo for temporary altitude camps they now have coaches and a support system there. I don't think any one location will "sink" - I think they'll be intertwined and support each other.
yes. she's not going anywhere. what i was looking at was the part where the athletes under these coaches that are signed with different brands stay until their respective contracts are up, then they have to sign with nike or go somewhere else, different coach and can't access same services. so, does that mean that if they stay with other brands, they just can't use the same services, but keep their coach? or they have to find a new coach? does that mean that nike say's you can sign with us for this amount, take it leave it, and if they don't take it. there out a coach? if that's the case, i can't see taylor agreeing to such a thing. basically her team as all BYU alum. there all a very tight group.
