Does it work the other way? Females who identify as Males competing as Men? Like could a Female pretending to be a Male, Join a Mens Wrestling Team and beat Carter Starrocci at NCAA's

The very first line says "Men's category open to all eligible student athletes"...
Do we have any definitions of, "fe/male"? How will these distinctions be made? Or are they just banning people who transition from male to female, after puberty?
The point of this order is to address opportunists like Lia Thomas, Cece Tefler and a few others. And their actions had to be addressed. However, the concern is that this is part of a larger effort to marginalize all transgender people, and expel them from public life. We must be careful.

Definitions NCAA Men’s Team: A varsity intercollegiate sports team that meets the qualifications to be considered for NCAA men’s championships. NCAA Women's Team: A varsity intercollegiate sports team that meets the qualifications to be considered for NCAA women’s championships. Mixed Team: A varsity intercollegiate team on which at least one individual of each sex assigned at birth competes. Per NCAA legislation, mixed teams are only eligible for NCAA men’s championships. Sex Assigned at Birth: The male or female designation doctors assign to infants at birth, which is marked on their birth records. Gender Identity: An individual’s own internal sense of their gender (e.g., man, woman, nonbinary). Transgender: An individual whose gender identity or gender expression is different from their sex assigned at birth.
Policy
1.NCAA Men's Team.
Regardless of sex assigned at birth or gender identity, a student-athlete may participate (practice and compete) with a men’s team, assuming they meet all other NCAA eligibility requirements.
Medical Exception Process. Please note, student-athletes taking a banned substance (e.g., testosterone) must complete the medical exception process.
2. NCAA Women's Team.
a. Student-athlete assigned male at birth:
i. Competition. A student-athlete assigned male at birth may not compete on a women’s team.
ii. Practice. A student-athlete assigned male at birth may practice on the team consistent with their gender identity and receive all other benefits applicable to student-athletes who are otherwise eligible for practice.
b. Student-athlete assigned female at birth:
i. Competition. A student-athlete assigned female at birth who has begun hormone therapy (e.g., testosterone) may not compete on a women’s team. If such competition occurs, the team is subject to NCAA mixed-team legislation, and the team will no longer be eligible for NCAA women’s championships.
ii. Practice. A student-athlete assigned female at birth who has begun hormone therapy (e.g., testosterone) may continue practicing with a women’s team and receive all other benefits applicable to student-athletes who are otherwise eligible for practice.
Application The policy outlined below applies to all practice and competition in NCAA sports in which the NCAA conducts championships separated by gender. This
Best poster on LRC, we are privileged to have her.
RunRagged has but one string on her banjo, but she plays that one string very well. I've found her posts well argued and informative, if sometimes exhausting.
The NCAA didn’t “have the courage” to do this on their own because they follow laws brah.
If they break the law, they are taken to court (and have been losing a lot).
So they could have denied the SJSU volleyball player, and then lost in court. And lost money.
Now there is a law in place and they are following that law.
The NCAA is never the boogie man people make it out to be. They do what all of the athletic directors want them to do… And print money off of free labor that too

The NCAA is going with "Sex Assigned at Birth," which the policy defines as
"The male or female designation doctors assign to infants at birth, which is marked on their birth records."
I take this to mean each athlete's earliest medical records and/or birth certificate or baptismal certificate or similar. I suspect the lingo doesn't specify because the attorneys know that nowadays many people who've adopted a trans gender identity, or had one imposed on them by their parents, have had the sex marker on their birth certificates changed.
If the NCAA had asked me, I would have left out any mention of doctors and gone with something like this: "The male or female designation marked in a person's earliest medical record(s) and/or original birth registry document(s).

Since a banjo string can play more than one note, I am really flattered by this imagery. It's a far kinder way of describing my repetitive LRC posting history since 2019 than saying I'm always "harping on the same string."
harp on the same string: To dwell tediously and repeatedly upon a single subject or topic, especially in complaint. Likened to playing the same note over and over again on a harp.
Also, I'm pretty exhausted from churning all the longwinded posts I've made on this topic on LRC in the past 6 years that you and others have understandably found exhausting. (And which posters like chuckle/prickle and JAHJ have found so annoying and insufferable.)
When I was a young woman, I never imagined I've have to spend time during my dotage explaining over and over again in tedious detail why there's a need for female-only sports, spaces and services - and defending the right of girls and women to have them.
i assume Dear Leader, since he's such a champion of equal women's rights, will now get ERA passed, Dobbs reversed, and vigorously pursue equal pay lawsuits for the women he so eagerly wants to "protect."

did you ever run against a trans?
yes
or
no.
period.
this is a massively exaggerated issue intended to pretend he cares about women while rolling back reproductive rights and flipping most of civil rights back towards defending white men from claims they are racist or sexist, or from any programs that try and improve minority or woman admissions or hiring where it is statistically whacked.
