I ran a 1/2 marathon this morning. It was a small race and I made a wrong turn unknowingly as did 2 of the 3 guys ahead of me. I couldn’t see them, only after they had made a 180 turn.
Once I realized I hit mile 11 with 9.8 miles on my watch I shut it down at 10 miles and jogged. I didn’t run through the line I just went home since it was a local race.
The first 7 miles or so were comfortable but the last 3 with some hills were close to all out for making it the full 13.1. I averaged 6:35 pace for 10.
My goal is to break 3:05, and my stretch goal is the first sub 3 since my mid 30s, 10 years ago. I ran in super shoes with close to 200 miles on them today, and I’m using a brand new pair for the marathon. Weather will be similar to today, low 60s and humid. Do I have a shot at sub 3?
