His birthdate is in mid August, so he'll be 18 throughout his senior campaign, not a biggie. He's basically just over 2 weeks older than the cutoff. 8:41 is always impressive in high school, training with high schoolers. If he were training with collegians or pros, like foreign club runners at this age, it wouldn't be as impressive.

Perhaps long lost twin of Sadie Engelhardt, similar birthdays.
He is 19 this year so not as impressive as many would think.
Oh give it a rest already! Half of all high school seniors will be 19 this year. Get a clue!
Only on this website is the age 19 so definitive on your career lol. And people really care if someone is half a year older than their classmates lol. What if he's only been running for 3 years and his classmates have been competing for several more years. Basing ones potential off of just an age is stupid it should be based on their experience in the sport. Look at Grant Fisher for example.
Tayvon is a beast, very consistent. What has me confused is why he is at this meet, which looks pretty minor. Also would love to know what he’s doing after high school.

I don't believe he has committed yet. However I would not be surprised if he goes to Washington considering Tostenson and Gorze will be there. BYU is the other option I think is likely for him(he is a Mormon).

If he is Mormon does that mean he will go on a two year mission and be back in 2027?

I am not sure. I know he is a Mormon because he has the LDS Church linked in his Instagram bio(gotta cite sources).

Give it a rest, he’s turning 19 well after school ends. The only case where turning 19 is iffy is if the kid is 19 during outdoor track (like a certain star New York girl).
Holy Christ. It's like everywhere I go, I see people argue about how turning 19 the year you graduate is some sort of crime. If I see one more idiot arguing about this, I might go ballistic

I know. I turned 19 the year I graduated but I graduated in June and my birthday was in November. The same people also have no problem lying about peoples ages as they claimed Danny Simmons turned 19 in January of his senior year when he turned 18 later then that(forget exact date).

Exactly. Imo, it's literally only a problem if you turn 19 years of age BEFORE you officially graduate high school. So pretty much anytime after June I'd say, it's perfectly fine and understandable.
I was born in September but I graduated at 17 and didn't turn 18 until I was already in college. If anything I wish I had graduated a year later so that wouldn't have been the case.
Likely will matter when he wins NCAA's at the young age of 26 or 27.
Currently "uncommitted" but the link to the Mormon Church in the bio tells us all we need to know.
All you need to know? The fact he has been great for a long time but hasn’t committed to BYU yet suggests it is no more than 50/50 he goes there. I believe based on IG he is still on their radar and vice versa, but the lack of offer or a commitment at this late date for someone like him is unusual.
The recent trend for star athletes raised Mormon is that it’s about 50/50 if they go on a mission if they don’t go to a Utah school where missions are common.
