The records will not fall. These women have no idea what they’re talking about. They are not good enough.

They are both capable of 63-something. I agree, though. The only woman who can hit 62 are probably Gidey, Hassan, Chebet, Tsegay and N'getich. And I suppose Chepngetich and Assefa have to be there, too even though they seem unlikely to focus enough on a HM for it.
I'm trying to watch the livestream but it's mighty bizarre. It keeps freezing and then running backward in fast motion, and after the introduction there doesn't seem to be any sound. You get what you pay for, I guess.
FYI.
Women's WR of 62:52 is 2:58.8 per km and 14:53.9 per 5k.
Men's WR of 57:30 is 2:43.5 perkm and 13:37.6 per 5k.
Looks like women hit 1st km in 2:57. Spot on (I didn't see that but the clock is 3:30 now and it says last km 2:57)
My bad. 2:57 was men's 1st km.
Women were 9:13 it looked like at 3k so that's 64:40 something. No WR tonight.

The tracking site has Taye at 14:57 through 5k, which is 1:03:05 pace

My bad.. I guess the woman I saw as the 2nd woman. Taye just hit 5k in 14:57. A two-women chase pack his it in 15:16.
64:57 is 63:05 pace. WR is 62:52.
Taye lost time at 10km drink station
Well Taye just cost herself 8 seconds at the drinks station. Her pacer hit a bottle onto the ground, she went down to pick it up, then realized it wasn't hers, turned around and grabbed a different one.
You just can't do that in a WR attempt. Just skip the drinks station!
Pacemaker knocked Taye's bottle over, her stiopping to pick it up must have cost five or six seconds
And her pacer dropped or did I just miss him …was there a pacer at all in the mens? Looks like there is little urgency at the front and they are mostly cruising.
EDIT: nvm he’s back
What is Taye's pacer doing? If the dude in front of her is indeed a pacer, he's just hanging out 5-10 yards in front. Strange if it is her guy
Is the guy on the bike leading out Taye saying "slow down"?

Way more than that i'd guess. FOr the record, her split BEFORE that was 30:06 which is 63:29 pace. She ain't getting a WR now. Only 5 women have ever broken 64 so let's see if she can do that.
When's the hammer gonna drop in the men's race?

The Mo Ahmed length stride isn’t helping matters.
Men 42:33 at 15K, last K saw a lift in pace
What the hell is going on in the front of the men's race? The streets are mostly empty yet the lead vehicle is slamming on the horn more than any race I've ever seen.
