Two-time Olympic medalist, indoor and outdoor World Champion, and Brooks Beast Josh Kerr has renewed his contract with Brooks and the Beasts Track Club through…
this speaks mega volumes about your character, at least in that relationship.
He appears to be a good guy. Don’t think anyone has questioned his character. He’s just a little cringy at times/ feels like he’s trying to portray an image that isn’t him. Love or hate Jakob, he’s just being himself.
Good for him, it's obviously done him great. Also, he's more or less the face of Brooks Beast, better than playing second fiddle to other (more) popular athletes
I wish him well but usually cheer for others in the race, for what it's worth.
I wonder. 10 year, 10mil? Sounds reasonable, no?
I would be surprised if it was quite this high. One of the main reasons is that if it is through until 2034, it's unlikely he will actually still be even competing on the track after 2030 as he is 27 already and obviously in 5 years time he will be 32 which would be an unprecedented age to still be relevant, let alone competing. So they clearly have him locked up in an ambassador role post track career - I think that probably capped what they would pay him.
My guess would be it's still up in the 700-750k a year range (which is awesome guaranteed money for 10 years in this sport), but as with all contracts, some nice incentive/bonuses kickers if he continues to be on the podium in main events.
Via instagram. Insinuated it's for the rest of his career (so through LA and maybe whatever is in 2029)?
Congrats to JK. Locking in long-term running contracts is really hard, especially for a mid-distance athlete who will most likely not be moving up in race distance. That being said, JK may have aspirations of competing in the 5000m based on his 2-mile PB which would include the 3000m. If that's the case, Brooks made a good deal and JK will remain the face of Brooks running.

To cover a much broader spectrum of distances (track, road, cross country), fan appeal, which equates to shoe and apparel sales and Brand enhancement, Brooks should hire Grant Fisher.
Berkshire Hathaway should understand this better than the rest.
Dang great for him, definitely one of my favorite runners to follow, and probably the 2nd most consistent 1500m runner behind Jakob for the last 5 years. Good for Brooks realizing Kerr is their best athlete and they gotta treat him well too. 2021 bronze, 2023 gold, 2024 silver, 2 mile WR, and more trash talk (headlines) between him and Jakob than the rest of distance running combined.
