DMR on Friday and 1000m on Saturday. Good practice for Grand slam I guess. Maybe if he wants to, he goes for 1000m record but I doubt it.
This thread was started before the race and was titled, " "Cole Hocker racing(or pacing?) again at Virginia tech this weekend."

This is super cool, might actually be a race this weekend. Not sure what there is to pace in a DMR or a 1k.

Ok, he was entered as a Nike athlete (obviously), so it looks like someone, presumably him, ran the 1200 leg of the DMR, running 2:50.76. Does anyone know who was on the unattached team? 2:50.19 from the first runner is also pretty good, curious to know who it was.
Is this a big deal, why? Surely he can run this

Either Teare or Hocker. Idk if teare can run a solo 2:50 so I’m leaning towards Hocker.
Definitely could have split up teare and hocker so they could run against each other

2:50 isn't a big deal for a 3:27 guy but I enjoy following the reigning 1500 Olympic champion from the United States
Is he not going to 'peak' for Tokyo like he did for Paris last year?

I just do not understand running a 1200 TT indoors, you can duplicate this in practice workout

Why does it matter where its done? At least this way you get the chance to get acclimated with a racing environment again before Millrose in two weeks.
10 per heat in the 1000's, that seems like a lot indoors for a race nearly as quick as the 800. Usually the 800 is limited to 6 or 8. Good practice technically I guess.

Is this Bobby Kersee's or Jerry Schumacher's account? Sure he could have ran that in a time trial, but race experience counts for something too.

A Virginia tech home meet is a practice workout…

This WAS a practice workout. Hocker and Teare train at VTech under Ben Thomas.

Okay, okay, I get it, I had a lapse, I honestly forgot they were right there under Ben Thomas, my apologies
Both just went 2:18 in the 1k, Hocker about
.5 ahead of Teare. Hocker about the same time he went for this last year, but Teare was about a second faster.

Crazy this is just marginally under 1500 race pace for Hocker. Looks like he led after halfway (pacer dropped).
Good result from Cooper, hopefully he puts it together during outdoors this year.
Maybe in the steeple???
Yeah this is probably a workout rep for them. Probably did some tempo work before and hills after. I’m rooting for Teare to go all in and make that 5k team.
