Her 2025 bests will be 3:57 and 14:36. She'll win the 5k at nattys and go to Tokyo.

Shelby will go to Tokyo but she won't be defeating Parker Valby in the 5k at USA's!

All she has to do is stick with Valby for 11.5 laps. Valby can't really outkick any top pros. Not hating, just stating the facts. Unless Valby is sub 1430, she's not dropping everyone.

Idk, but she'll never beat Nikki again. Let's just put some truths out there whether it hurts or not.

The results are very interesting. Almost everyone thinks Shelby will run under 4:00 for 1500 meters but not under 14:30 for 5,000 meters and not break an American record. A majority thinks she’ll make the US world championship team for Tokyo but not win a US national title.

The prevailing opinion is Shelby will still be a good runner who is top 3 in the US but not as fast as she was before and no longer the best in the country. That is sensible. She turns 32 next month.

I’m curious: for those who think Shelby will make the team for Tokyo but not win a US title, do you think she’ll make the team in the 1500 meters or 5,000 meters? Or both? What place do you think she’ll get at the US championships in those events, and who do you think will beat her?

Looks like there are mixed views on Valby beating Shelby in the 5,000 meters. If not Valby, who will beat Shelby in that event? Monson? Schweizer? Cranny?

Did St. Pierre say she’s not running the 5000m this time? If she does, she would be the favorite.

St. Pierre is expecting a baby in May. She won't be ready for nattys this summer.

Kelati, Schweizer, Cranny, Valby, Andrews, Morgan, Henes (if she recovers from her lung issue to match her 2023 performances). St. Pierre would but is out for 2025. Not saying they would all beat her in 2025 but they are the only ones with any chance. I think Wayment could do it but she will be doing steeple instead.

There is no way in heck that Henes or Andrews have any chance in beating her. They don’t have even belong in the same sentence as the others.
