Didn't see one so thought I'd create it. Should be quick. I just aw Marc Scott on the second row and I don't think he was announced so it'll be interesting to see how he goes here
Trying to work it out by eyeball as there's little information and commentary is in Spanish, but it looked like the lead woman, Tesfay Haiylu, was on 29:26 pace through 3km

13:43 at 5km, this isn't going to be quick for the men. But lead woman went through in 14:25. She does have the benefit of a big pack of sub-elite men to run behind
Get ready for a super fast time by someone you probably haven't heard of before. Hellen Lobun is on for sub-29 here and has almost nothing on her record
Listen, Almgren is a beast he looked phenomenal and he knew he had the greatest 400m/800m speed... that Kenyan woman is eyeball test alleged doping to me she was absolutely falling apart midway and ran like a maniac to run 29:30.. never seen anything like it. Great new white hope with Almgren... took down some big names.
29:30-ish for Lobun to win the women's race. Best senior previous result I can see on her record is 14:45 for 5km from December 2024. She's 25/26 years old
And Valencia has become the Mecca and epicenter of distance runner. The depth of seriousness in Spain is insane right now. 100th place you need to run sub-29

I thought he was losing it in the last 600, but he came through really strong. He was noticeably working harder than Lobalu for that. Good win in a class field
Happy for Almgren - he's a super interesting and smart guy. There's a really good Sweat Elite (I know, I know) interview with him, well worth a listen.
