Do you think Athing Mu is done?

Depends on her contract and when it runs out. I predict one or 2 outdoor meets. And one will be a DNS

Not done. It sucks her coach has forced her out of her second best event. I would get pretty bored too if I was expected to just dominate 800s the rest of my career.

Right. It seems like if she competes at all it will be the absolute bare minimum to get paid. She seems to have no interest in chasing records or competing outside USAs and global championships. I wonder if she is even going to honor the remainder of her contract. Seems to really hate the sport, especially after falling at the trials I bet.

She either runs 1:53 this year or retires no inbetween

I hope she’s not done. I would like to see Keely & Mu have an epic battle at Worlds. I really think she needs to drop Kersee.

The folks at Athletics Weekly don’t think she’s done, either. Three of the four of them picked her 2nd at Worlds.

She’s got a good head on her shoulders. I think she’ll be fine.

I remember Boris Berrian. All about his $100k a year contract. Makes the Olympic final and becomes a huge bust. I am sure New Balance was happy to get rid of him and send him back to his McDonald's a career! I mean I think I have gone for a long run that lasted longer then that guys career!

Honestly, she could retire right now and make more modeling than in track. Plus, she is very smart. She'll be fine.

She should do whatever makes her happy and my observation is that it is not being a pro runner. Hope she finds happiness and good fortune. She had a great, brief time in track, reaching Olympic Gold. Nothing left to prove.

She can make a lot of money in track. She will make nothing modeling if she isn't running.

Rumor is she’s switching coaches. I’d say that’s a good move

She needs to go back to the plan she had at A&M. More frequent racing works for her.

She’s prob fried mentally, but so much talent that she can probably eke out a few more seasons. If she has no other blatant career paths, it’s pretty difficult to give up money and sponsorships that are right there in front of you.

But probably it’ll be clear very soon if she’s still a competitor.
