Jakob just published that he is racing Lievin, then Apeldorn (european indoor) and then possibly world indoor.

Here's the post on Instagram. He has committed to Lievin (February 13) and Euro Indoors (March 6-9) and says World Indoors (March 21-23) is a possibility.
Where else do you want to see him run?
Being based in the northeastern US, my vote is obviously for Millrose (Feb 8). The mile would be more fun against Kerr and Nuguse considering he'd probably just run away from Fisher and Hocker in the 3k. If the turnaround to Lievin is too quick, how about the 1500 in Boston on February 2?
Simplot Games exhibition coaches mile,
Pocatello Idaho, February 22nd
I'd rather him skip World Indoors and do The Ten on March 29 but we all know there is a 0% chance of that happening at this point in his career.
Any update on this rumor? NBIGP posted a promotional picture of Jakob with other runners earlier but they never officially announced he's in. If he's going to the US, seems like Boston would be a better shot for a fast time than Millrose (unless the resurfaced track is really faster like they say?)
He never stated exactly where he is going for training. I’d presume Sierra Nevada in Spain or Flagstaff. If he’s in Flagstaff, you’d think the door would be open for a fast indoor race on in Boston or NY. If he is going to Sierra Nevada, I think the odds of him racing in Boston or NY are much lower.
jakob will never race in boston
He is going to Sierra Nevada.
Would not mind if he had skipped indoor season alltogether to be honest, its going to be a long season as it is. Would rather have him sharp for outdoor season.
He should just leave it as is. Lievin, Apeldorn, and then Nanjing World Indoors is plenty of racing and I would be satisfied with that. He should race more outdoors anyways.
No, a double at world indoors (the schedule allows for 1500/3000 double) would go a long way if he were to beat all his main rivals. He can attack the 10000m WR next year where there is no outdoor WC.
I’m assuming “the mountains” means altitude camp in the Sierra Nevada, not Flagstaff, so I don’t think we’ll see him in the US this winter. With that in mind, this is what I’m guessing he’ll do:
2/13: 1500m | Lievin 🇫🇷
3/6-9: 1500m, 3000m | Apeldoorn 🇳🇱
3/21-23: 1500m, 3000m | Nanjing 🇨🇳
5/25: 1500m | Rabat 🇲🇦
6/6: 1500m | Rome 🇮🇹
6/12: 1500m | Oslo 🇳🇴
7/5: Mile | Eugene 🇺🇸
7/19: Mile | London 🇬🇧
8/16: 1500m | Silesia 🇵🇱
8/27: 1500m | Zurich 🇨🇭
9/13-21: 1500m, 5000m | Tokyo 🇯🇵
WR attempts in July and August.
Jakob does the same thing pretty much every year: a target race in July (e.g. Silesia '23, Monaco '24) followed by a 3-4 week training block that leads into Worlds/Olympics. To maintain that schedule this year, his last race before Tokyo would have to be mid-August, which would mean skipping the DL final. I can’t see him doing that, so I think he’ll put that block in after London and try to hold his fitness through September.
This is all based on the DL calendar, which Jakob isn’t necessarily bound to. We could see races added or changed depending on what he wants.
A few weeks back they said on the coffee club podcast that they heard he was running at NB Boston. They stated it as if it was definite. It’s been a few weeks since then and still no confirmation from Jakob so I wonder if it’s not happening. Or maybe he’s just more cautious with injuries this time of year and doesn’t want to run if he has any injury come up even if it is very minor. Could be the plan to always announce it last minute if that’s the case
You would think he would mix in a DL 3k or 5k instead of doing 6 straight 1500 or mile races. I would say Stockholm or Paris DL in June.
It would really surprise me if he went to the US before the outdoor season, he did a big interview a few months back where he stated that he would try to stay away from Flagstaff/the US in order to avoid the long travel and the adverse effect changes in time zones has on his body.
Great opportunities don't come every day.
Monaco meet organizers are track and field terrorists for not having a 1500 on the schedule this year

Make it happen Jonathan, our British charge Kerr will be ready to mow him down in the millrose mile turn by turn until his wheels come off! His pictures look off, his face bloated with too much deliberation over wifey, and he has lost a patch of hair to boot and this signifies chronic low grade liver and adrenal stress and inflammation, all signs pointing to also man made elektramagnetica field exposure.
Jonathan it doesn’t look good here. I’m not being negative here but just look at his shot eyes! A winner does not look like that! 😢
You’re off your meds again, Khamis.
