I'm going out on a bit of a limb here. I'm not sure how entirely serious this is, but it comes from a place of thinking the US could learn from Japan on how to run on the roads. Graham obviously loved being part of the Harvard XC/Track team, that much is clear through all his media appearances and what he posts online about the team.
There is one more opportunity to represent Harvard on a nice stage should he take it (technically, he'd represent Ivy at large) - the Izumo Ekiden in Japan gathers some of the best Ivy League alumni to run against Japanese universities. It's in October, he could stay over in Japan after Worlds if he qualifies and gain some Japanese road running wisdom on how to run a fast marathon. This past year other Harvard teammates of his like Acer Iverson, Matt Pereira, Kieran Tuntivate have gone on to compete there. Just have to figure out if he makes it or if people prioritize the World Road Champs since the US is hosting them in San Diego in September.
The schedule could be USAs -> World Champs in Japan -> Izumo Ekiden -> World XC in Tallahassee where he gets team podium with Grant Fisher/Parker Wolfe/Mantz/Nico Young/Klecker. That World XC team with actual medal potential is probably a theme for a different thread though..
