His homepage is really good and well-designed. Link below...
He fits the perfect example of what it must be like to be an amazing, super-talented runner with a massive engine and good speed but no chance to ever make another team.
13:31 5000m speed and 2:10 marathoning isn't going to get it done in 2025.
What would you guys do if you had his PRs?

I would probably look back someday and know I gave my best, was competitive at a pretty high level collegiately and domestically on the road with respectable PBs. I would be grateful to have had a great experience with teammates and coaches, making a meaningful (scoring) contribution and a proud member of a champion program. Im sure I learned a lot along the way and can help others if I choose to do so someday.
What I wouldnt be thinking about are snarky comments on LRC by people who never produced 1% of the results I have with a negative tone about anything when mentioning my name.

sport is cruel. would've liked to have seen him on a team
Retires from what?
I know him for two reasons.
- Cheating on his wife
- Holding the 25k road record for a few years
Good luck to him in his future endeavors I guess
Filming from his car is a nice touch, since he'll be living there.
Plenty of opportunities for him to make an OLY or Worlds team. There was always a spot for a 2:10 guy the last few cycles, but he would bottle the trials. I assumed he passed on a Worlds team since the standard used to be lower.
Regardless, he did what he loved on Saucony's dime for many a year. Wonder what's next. No, I didn't watch his car video so if he says what he's doing there, I missed it.

This guy finally got his wish.
He did the best he could given his slightly limited talent. He just didn't have Rupp or Fisher level talent but he put in the work. The real problem is the Africans just destroying marathon times. It's hard to keep going when 2:05 is pretty much nothing these days.
