I think a lot of the emphasis on running with a (slight) forward lean is to counteract the tendency of less experienced runners to lean back when fatigued and sacrifice proper form. At the elite level, that small degree of lean isn’t particularly important provided the athlete’s mechanics are consistent and fluid.
ok, if no fwd lean is necessary as a distance runner, answer me this
how fast can you run while leaning backwards?
how fast can you run backwards while leaning forwards?
have you considered that moving forward is only possible while leaning forward?
honestly stand perfectly upright and try to take a single step forward. it's effectively not possible. i mean you can kinda claw yourself forward with the foot you reached out with, but even then, watching myself in a mirror try it i'm not convinced it's possible
open to quickly changing my mind with actual video evidence
MJ was extremely upright as well, but truth is there was still a slight forward lean just not easy to see in real-time
That extraneous “c” is proof that you shouldn’t be operating any heavy machinery.
Easy mistake to make. The UW football coach's last name is Fisch. The last name Fischer is also a real last name. There used to be an American tennis player with last name Fish.
