I wouldn't be surprised if she resurfaces with another contract in a few days/weeks. She is well-liked and has a solid online presence which should draw some interest. I don't know if a marathon is on her future, but she would do well on the roads 13.1 and under.
She's had a really strong career & provides value outside of race results with a strong social media following. Why start a thread like this linking her talent to her husbands employment. How many American women have a distance medal? That buys you some time as a sponsored athlete. Would like to see her on the roads at this stage in her career. Wonder if Nike would have gone for that.

Ask Kara Goucher and Jenny Simpson about that. Infeld's minor medal is nearly 10 years in the past, suffice it to say there was no greater potential beyond that peak. At least she's still running better than Hasay.
Nike is in the midst of some belt tightening and restructuring. Old CEO’s consultant cronies are being cleared out and replaced with people that understand the company culture. Times will be tight for 18-24 months plus they don’t want to spend too much while Trump’s tariff threats are out there. Oh, there is a new Senior VP of Sports Marketing that just started and her impact won’t be felt for at least another year as she determines priorities and budgets going forward.
Emily is an awesome person and has been a great face/personality for the brand. That said, she is at the end of her competitive career and Nike really needs to be looking towards 2028 where running is concerned. This game is like any other. You have to let the aging hometown favorite go in lieu of younger talent with greater upside.
This is a realistic view. Nike's facing a lot of tariff uncertainty, and they've lost some of the top young athletes to other brands in recent years. You've got to imagine they're trying to keep their powder dry so they can score a few people destined to be LA28 superstars (keeping in mind that sprints are a big part of this as well). Reading between the lines with some of the deals that new college grads like Valby have gotten, it sounds like shoe companies are blowing a lot of money on these up and comers so getting those superstars is going to be $$$.
She made a global team as recently as 2023 and is a medalist. She was remarkable given her injury history.
Would like to see her try the roads at longer distances more if her body can handle it.

She literally teases a new sponsor: "As the saying goes, when one door closes, another door opens 🙃 stay tuned!"
I used to be a huge fan of hers, but her feed has annoyed me of late. I'd guess she is a bit of a prima donna to all those around her (though tbh I have no idea)

Despite "belt tightening," Nike continues to fund BTC, continues to fund now-Boulder-based UAC, has plowed $$ into Diljeet Taylor's former Taylor Made pro women's team, may be expanding the Grant Fisher/Mike Scannell partnership to bring one or more training partners up to Park City, and -- maybe the most important commitment -- will be sponsoring Mike Smith and his pro team in Flagstaff starting next summer.
Agree with the "aging hometown favorite" comment. Nike let Colleen Quigley and Marielle Hall walk when they were past their primes. Let Vanessa Fraser go a couple years back when it was clear her double TENEX surgeries in 2020 devastated her track career. Now, same with Emily who's best days on the track have long since vanished from the rear view mirror.
Like NAZ Elite did recently but not all at once, Nike has slowly cleaned house of most of its old guard (Jager & Ahmed the lone exceptions although not sure of Jager given his recent move to Sweden) to make way for a big push towards LA 2028.
Nike struck out on Tuohy, Valby, Markezich, Blanks, and Young -- the five biggest American distance stars to come out of the NCAA system in years. Also missed out on internationals Robinson and Ramsden.
Adidas, New Balance and On have been eating Nike's lunch. Don't expect that to continue in 2025. Not sure which collegiate female athlete/s Nike will be targeting next year, but expect it will throw as much $$ as necessary at Parker Wolfe to bring him into the fold.
