Time will tell. I'm in my upper 40s and have never had a major injury. Longest I've been our was 1 week with an IT band issue. If she can say the same her training is fine. If she misses weeks at a fun time her training isn't.
Also, she is popular because she is attractive. Much like Anna Kournikova she never has to be good. She will always have sponsors.
I don't think Mike's statement is directed at athletes that are easily injured by more mileage, like Parker, but more as a general statement for the typical athlete. Her training methods are what is working for her at this point in her career.

Really? Kournikova not as bad as often cited, she made it to #8 on the world rankings single list, and won two Grand Slam doubles titles.
That can be a challenge for Valby. Finish a pro year ranked better than world#8 in an event, or win Gold in a relay.
Was looking at the old Grant Fisher thread that someone started here but found this funny part at the end about Valby, thoughts?
I would say if he doesn't know why she is so popular a very attractive blonde with a good peronality who does lots of interviews, who has re-written the record books in the NCAA and pulled off one feat after another that everyone said she couldn't do......then he isn't too bright, or is lying, or is jealous. It's one of the 3.

Her achievements in NCAA track and XC are worthy of attention, and she’s no Anna Kournikova.

I don’t trust Fishery’s coach Mike Scannell. Something is up with these 2. It feels like they are from Russia when they are not. And it’s not ‘from Russia with love’ but ‘from Russia with deception’. You can trust a Physicist to say that.
A lot of experts seem offended that she’s been able to have success doing things differently than they would advise her to do it. She trained the way she had to stay healthy (coming off injury) for the college schedule. If she had missed her last CC and T&F seasons, she wouldn’t even be a topic of conversation, and she’d be working a desk job right now.
