As I approach my 40's, I don't feel like I will lose much sharpness. I'm guessing it will get scary at around 50, 60 as your body starts undergoing the more irreversible changes. Especially with diminished testosterone making it harder to lose weight and put on muscle.
For those in their 20's, you'd be surprised at just how little you will feel like you've aged from then until the 40's. Age doesn't really change you. Experience does. If you haven't done much in your life from the age of 20 to 40 with hardly any new experiences, you're going to be 40 feeling like you're 20 from a psychological maturity standpoint. Experiences are the only thing that can change you. The only wisdom you get just from aging itself is learning how the body changes and how you must adapt to that. for everything else, there are no free rides..
