This is correct and a little known fact. The total day length starts to increase from the solstice but it's not even in terms of sunrise/sunset... so the sunset actually starts to get later from about 17 Dec and the sunrise starts to get earlier from about 2 Jan.
“…we will stop losing daily sunlight, which has been going on since June, and instead finally start to increase it! This gain will be minuscule at first, just a matter of seconds a day, but will steadily grow until daily daylight expands by (just) 3 daily minutes per day in March.”

Not quite, the latest sunrise week depends on the latitude and longitude. It varies from the last week of Dec up to the third week of January across various US locations. There is a similar variation in the earliest sunset week across locations, eg in Miami, it was the late Nov/early Dec week.
I do like the Winter and the fact that I can have a fire in the fireplace and read or watch movies with the family after work without feeling guilty for not "doing something." If it were sunny out, I would feel weird for just watching football or basketball games on TV or playing video games with the kids. But when it is dark at 5:00pm, the family evenings are nice and long. That part is nice.
However, I am a runner as well and running with a headlamp for 5 out of 7 days a week sucks. I want the light to come back so I can run normally again. I hate running in the dark.
Bring back "Spring Forward" and never go back! DST forever!

I love running 5.22 every morning at 4am.
Run right down the middle of the road and its glorious, the stars, just the beauty of the time before the sun rises

The Algorithm creepily recommended this short to me shortly after posting the above, but I thought it interesting all the same.
The algorithm through up this video after yours, and my first question is “What am I missing?” I couldn’t get two minutes into the video before turning it off.
Satan and his minions prefer the world of shadows. Christ Jesus is the True Light of the world. Best to follow His light.
I was visiting NYC years ago and was taking the subway. This guy walks in the loaded car and starts a monologue just like the stuff you are saying, about how we will all be saved if we accept Jesus but burn in eternal flames if we do not.
So one guy mutters "Shut up", and another joins in, "Yeah, just shut the F_ Up!', and soon the whole car of men and women and kids are joining in and telling the guy to kiss off and to go kill himself.

I’ve seen videos of car-sized drone vehicles out of China, that are actually something I would be interested in as a passenger. That thing in the vehicles looks ridiculous. (Is NBC getting some type of kickback to run a story on it?)
Then wake up earlier yo. Jesus was a carpenter you think he liked working early hours in the dark. Yeeeesh. Be a man or woman and get up early to enjoy the light. Late night sunshine is for sinners and peders
I actually do feel like that every February-March. Like oh no, I will be always running in the light now, and the twilight is so beautiful I'll miss it.
But every autumn I'm the other way, "oh crap headlamp season, it gives me headaches when I do something faster". And after the DST is switched off, "oh well come on, no more PM running this year".
So really either way is OK when you get used to it, it's mostly the change that sucks.
But if I have to pick one, I'd join you in choosing long night / short day. Because at the peak of summer the sun is still up when I go to bed and already up when I wake up, it's just too much. I used to live much more to the south as a kid and remember warm summer nights fondly, but here in Berlin we only get them for a short while in late August and September before it gets cooler.

It was funny as hell.
I love NYers.
Seek Jesus. Go to church. Let go of your anger and sins.
