I predict 8:45. It's awesome that she is racing a 3k. If she can slightly improve her fitness and develop an elite kick, she will be a perennial medal threat in the 10,000.
I was told to expect great things, so I expect 8:29. However, a more reasonable prediction is a solid pr in the 8:34 range, fast enough to get ahead of Tuohy's current pr.

I am a Valby fan and occasionally suffer from Valbymania, but am curious why you consantly repeat this and seem to attribute it as her motto, when she has never said this.
Will there be any competition for her in the race or will they set this up so she is an easy winner?
well that is a good question as the next week I believe is Millrose which will no doubt attract interest, and then there is the Indoor Championship later in February.
Well indoor szn is not as important for a pro as it is to a collegiate.
I don’t think thats how Valby is wired. I’m sure she’ll run it all out.
That's not the point. The point is that pros are often just training through the indoor season and only trying to peak once which is for the summer. College runners try to peak twice, once for the indoor NCAA Championships and a second time for the outdoor NCAA Championships.
So it's not about if Valby will run all out or not, it's that she has another 7 months before she needs to peak, so her fitness level right now might not be as good as some people think it is.
