Nike groups are a disaster right now and getting worse

Nike abandoned their proven business strategies and it isn't working out for them. This includes in their support for elite groups.

This is exactly why no one wants to run for Nike as a new pro. They have created a mess of groups with no loyalty. None of these groups show they want to make you the best in the world.

I think Mike Smith isn’t actually going to be working for Nike. Nico is newly signed with Adidas and will obviously be priority for Mike Smith. No way Nike would allow an employed coach work with Nico Young as he’s an Adidas athlete. It’s sounds like Team Boss situation

Nike needs to decide what they are doing with these half committed groups. Mike Smith coaches other companies and will continue to do so, Union is dying, Jerry’s number one priority is the college kids.

A group built around parker wolfe and ethan strand could definitely work, especially after this weekend. They both have nike NILs and hav expressed interest in staying teammates as pros.

Miltenberg could maybe swing it. If he focused his energy down to just a handful of great runners, perhaps something big could happen here in NC.

It’s not about getting Strand and Wolfe. It’s about Nike committing to their pros.

Jerry’s priority is his college teams at UofO. Pete Julian is MIA and we can all assume that group has seen its last days. Mike Smith will focus on Adidas, Hoka and lululemon athletes so Nike athletes won’t be priority as it’s a multi company group.

Nike athletes won the men's 1500m, 5000m,10000m, and 3000SC at the olympics.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the main reason is Nike is not offering as much as these other companies. They have always low-balled, maybe just low-balling even more these days. That being said, they still have many of the very best US runners, just not the depth. Fisher, Hocker, and Rooks are who won medals this year, they are all Nike. So is Nike actually doing poorly? Or are they just not picking as many people as you would like.

Nike has proven for like a decade plus that they don’t really give a sh*t about their athletes, and people are over it. Kinda as simple as that.

Did Venters and Plourde both leave Union? Is Sonia O’Sullivan still coaching union? Who is Sinclaire’s coach?

Plourde and Donaghu moved to Utah and joined Diljeet's pro group. Venters is also in Utah but not sure who her coach is.

Reality is that there is little to no ROI sponsorship professional runners. Valby is believed to earn at least $700k annum from NB. Can NB ever get $700k of revenue from Valby throughout her entire career?

Regardless, Nike seems to be more picky in their athletes.
