I think they could certainly both get close. You have to have some serious wheels to run 7:30, even on the BU track.
26/54s last 200/400 from both of them, and Strand already has a 3:35 pb with a 55s last lap. I think probably just have to try. They broke the 3k record by 6s. That's crazy.

It’s 3:50.39, but from what we’ve always heard about Whit is that they deemphasize indoors. That was not the case with Ben Thomas. I think it’s more likely they run crazy fast indoors if they get in a fast race.
If Adam Spencer or Annas Asseyi of SC are in it this winter (Annays was listed as a junior last year), they both should be able to do it. Asseyi already got 3:50 the last 2 years
I think they can both possibly break the mile collegiate record too. Am I overreacting?
As good as both of those guys ran imagine if Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Kejelcha Fisher Barega etc would have been in that race. They would have probably went 720 to 722

Wolfe/Strand are as close to Fisher/Kejelcha as Fisher/Kejelcha are to Jakob.
When I think of record-breaking NCAA teammates, at 3k anyway, my mind goes all the way back to Oregon teammates Chapa and Salazar in the late 70s, when Chapa ran 7:37 and Salazar 7:43 in a lowkey outdoor meet at Hayward.
