If you were only allowed to take 5 supplements as a runner, which ones would you recommend to take? (Obviously the supplements have to be legal). I'm trying to understand what a other runners take to help them train successfully.
I am pretty religious about lifting weights and every morning I have a protein shake with chia seeds, flax seed, sesame seed and pumpkin seeds. They all have a lot of protein and are very high in Omega3. The pumpkin seeds are high in magnesium.
Along with those, I take multivitimins, Vit. D, Creatine, Vit E and a few others.

I would also say take some tumeric pills. Many great benefits. One study concluded that 0% of people with pre-diabetes who took tumeric developed diabetes.
Why does Boron make your top 5? How does it help you run faster?
You should be able to get most things through a healthy diet but boron is one that's harder to get unless you eat specific foods which I don't eat much of.
It's great for recovery along with bone and joint health and many other things.
My knees ache without it so I've decided it's the reason my joints feel better under high mileage. It could be something else or a placebo effect but the science suggests there's something to it.
