Just obliterated the Masters AR at Valencia. I thought there would at least be mention of this on the home page….
Congrats Sara!! She is a grinder and continues to impress.

That's because almost no one really cares about the masters AR.
Regardless of not many people caring about the masters AR, 2:23 is still a very respectable time. Especially for a masters runner. It’s Sara’s fastest marathon in 2.5 years so I agree with OP she should be getting some love.
Letsrun is full of weirdos who only care about women who look or are under the age of 25, and the floor is not 18
She was mentioned in the Official Valencia Marathon group thread.

She is very talented and still performing well but the Halls seem like they are hanging on for too long. In my head, they are becoming like the crop of “Respect the Grind!” influencers stuck at a performance plateau but needing to race more to stay in the public eye.
People don't care as much about age group records as they do as general records. And she's already well-known so this isn't anything new, she ran a similar time to what she's run in some other races the past few years, and ran it on one of the fastest courses in the world so it checks out.
Sara and Ryan Hall, greatest ever power couple (unless you count King and Queen Ches I guess)
She could take Ryan. He's such a fattie.
When juiced gals are running 2:0x it really diminishes these great feats. 2:23 for her is awesome.
6th fastest American of the year
A reminder that we're back to irrelevance AND US Americans are generally reluctant to race overseas without being on a US team. Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Zero podium threats on the horizon.
Sara is beautiful, more than many girls half her age.

I’m sure she is still faster than you will ever be.
Awesome result for Sara and seemed to mean a lot to her. She's got to be one of the toughest mental competitors out there to be continuing at this level. After all this time and after so many disappointments, she still lines up and gets the most out of herself. I remember in some interview Ryan said when they were in high school he was impressed with how she handled not making Footlocker her junior year and then came back the next year to win. Seems like she's always had a great ability to bounce back. CIF state champ as a freshman in 1997 and now a Masters marathon AR in 2024. Congrats Sara!
Fantastic athlete who has been at it for decades. Four marathons a year no joke. Runs like someone with a family to support haha.
But she bottles it when it counts and isn't an Olympian.
That's why no one cares, right or wrong.
+1
"No love for Sara Hall"
I was always a fan of Sara Hall but really don't care. She's always been good in flat, cold, paced marathons. My reaction was - "Our masters record was only 2:23?" Sinead Diver ran 2:21 at age 45.
