"Skambank" does not mean shame him, even though skam means shame. It means to hit someone half to death. I am sure there is some english equivalent, but cant find it now. Bludgeon, but not really since you can skambanke without a weapon. More or less beat someone senseless.

When someone says "I'll kill ya", they rarely mean it literally, especially with a family member. Folks need to calm down. This is a nothing burger.

i don't "not believe it" but I don't believe it either. not at 100%. I am at this point 90% in the camp of believing it though. Tone corroborating would bump it to 99.9.

Saying that you will "skambanke" someone and "slå de helseløs" is not the same as saying "I'll kill ya". It is something like saying "I will beat you until your face is unrecognizable" and "I'll beat your senseless", which is so concrete that most people would take it as a threat, especially from someone that (might) have hit you before.
