Best Runner You’ve seen at a Turkey Trot?

I know there's faster races, but I ran the 4 mile Turkey Trot in Denver this morning and the winner ran like 19:35. Thought that was pretty impressive for a local Turkey Trot at altitude

I finished Top 20 at the 2002 Denver Turkey Trot where Charlie Gruber, ran for Kansas, finished top 3 (I think)

Allie Buchalski ran at my turkey trot in Atlanta this morning. She ran 16:18 for the 5k, on a super hilly course for 2nd overall. Don't know how hard she was trying but she had to be going faster than her tempo pace given the nature of the course.

Nick Symmonds at the Boise Turkey Trot. I ran the first half mile with him just to say I did despite going out probably 20 seconds too fast overall.

I bumped into Lynn Jennings at the Feaster Five back in 1996 or ‘97. I had my Princeton sweatshirt on and she said hi to me before the race. Pre-cellphone days so I didn’t get a photo but I recall she won the women’s race that day.

There’s a local trot here in MI (Troy). Nothing crazy like the one downtown Detroit which has roughly 15K runners each year.

Winner of the local one went 14:46 and there were 7 men under 15:30. Nothing earth-shattering but definitely competitive given the small size of the race (under 1000).

I won a "Holiday Hustle" 5km race one year, my buddy won it the next year, and then the third year it was Chris Solinsky. It was post-hamstring injury, but he still destroyed all of us.

The beauty of Turkey Trots is you just never know what the winning time might be. One race could be won in 14:30 one year and 16:15 the next, all depends on who is in town on the day.

That was Ben Kendell who runs for Hansons doing a workout. Zach Panning ran the Detroit 10k in 29:30. They had a couple women run 16:12 and 16:40 in the Detroit 5k. I was told that the rest of their team went home for the holiday and ran their hometown Turkey Trots.
