The mile markers are permanently painted on the roads, and have been repainted due to the re-measurement. The first mile marker looks like it moved just as much as the later ones, so more of the inaccuracy seemed to be there instead of it being spread all throughout the course. Caused by the intersection at the first turn being re-constructed since the last time the course was measured, no doubt. Look for that mile split specifically to be a couple seconds slower than it would previously have been called in the past.
Edwin Kurgat and Weini Kelati look like the obvious favorites, but a November 28th road race is always a good time for someone to upset the form books.

It was actually fine, rain was light during the race and I was plenty warm in a singlet and half tights. A few degrees colder and with heavier rain would have been a different story.
This race, with its poor management and racial bias against international athletes from Africa, can never get their results on time. It's after 6pm race day and still no results on the race site.
As for the "money to top 25" that is a lie. It's top ten with 11-25 getting $100 gift cards.
MRR is a great race - They don’t actually advertise all the race winnings. Got top masters couple years ago surprisingly won $1000 cash + few hundred in gift certificates and a beautiful Waterford Crystal vase trophy + invite for free entry at the next years race. They treat all levels of good runners very well.
