I’m just curious whether low IQ Trumpanzees will be able to understand that voting Dump and his insane tariffs in will be the the economic equivalent of pissing into the wind. Voting against your interests and loudly boasting about has been a favourite right wing pastime!

Wal-mart and other retailers have already said they will pass the tariffs on to the consumer. So is the plan here to punish the American consumer by raising prices to somehow try and prove a point to Mexico? What?
And when did you realize Biden/Harris was an epic failure? When did you realize that he had dementia? Hope it wasn’t the debate. Most of the world that wasn’t getting fake news knew a long time ago. When did you realize that no leadership helps contribute to big wars? Well, he’s fast forwarded the world toward major conflict in a lot of areas. Hopefully those stupid Trump voters realized that we need the big orange man to get us out of this sh1t storm.
We are also on the fast train to a major recession. You will probably blame that on those pesky Trump voters too. I hope all of those dumb voters also aren’t going to be sad when we shut down the flow of a lot of sh1t coming across our border.
Those dumb Trump voters probably do t want real humans in the presidents cabin either. It’s horrible to replace the cabinet of misfit idiots like in the Biden admin. Those DEI hires were wonderful. Yes, already regret voting for Trump. I wish I voted for an administration that tries to jail political opponents, keep them off the ballot, then force one that wanted to get off the ballot to stay on. Now that’s a pillar of democracy!
In 2023, the US ran an $84 billion dollar trade DEFICIT with Mexico. While they will suffer from a protracted trade war, the US will suffer more quickly with renewed inflation and DOGE austerity measures. Trump will own the ensuing recession plus higher prices and the Democrats very likely regain the House in 2026.
Trump is a very stupid and short sighted man that is living in the past.
Tariffs ultimately will help the working class everywhere but hurt upper middle class in the big cities the most. As auch they are perfect. The Tech employee in seattle (democrat) will have to pay more for most products while their company will be Hit by tarifs from other countries. The small idustrial plant far away from the city and its employees (republican )will profit. Good times ahead

You do understand that a DEFICIT means that $84 billion flowed from the US economy to Mexico’s economy. So Mexico will be the one that suffers the most
Most of what we import, we should produce domestically for strategic reasons. We import computer chips (remember the chip shortage), medicine, energy, and food. It is a bad idea to be dependent on other countries for these things.
Trump has it all correct. Me and most of his other supporters understand that his policies might cause pain in the short term but it will be a huge benefit in the long term.

What a bunch of nonsense. This will hurt the lower working class the most. Even the workers in that "small industrial plant" you mentioned shops at Walmart and their prices will skyrocket like everything else and if the raw materials for that mentioned " small industrial plant" happens to come out of China or Mexico they will feel the pinch even more.

The strategy is to punish Mexico by disencentivizing the purchase of Mexican products until they build a wall and stop drug smuggling.
Mexicans will starve before Americans will.
But remember, Elon said this will only be "temporary hardship", once Mexico does what Trump says we can stop eating cat food and go back to normal!
The US is heavily dependent on imported goods because it no longer has the infrastructure or the native labor to grow and make such things. Conservatives always magically believe that there are trillions in capital to build factories and tens of millions of workers just itching to work in fields, slaughter houses, toxics production, hand labor, assembly, and associated venues that can do the job on a moment’s notice. Building an advanced chip plant and staffing it takes 7-10 years. A garment stitching operation is six months to build and several years to achieve the same quality of work found in Asia or Central America. Chemicals manufacturing? Sane folks don’t want that anywhere near their local water table. Who wants to wreck their necks and backs manually picking crops for minimum wage?
By all means, negotiate better trade terms with your partners but the people clinging to the hope that rural America will be awash in high paying jobs and economic prosperity are being played for fools. The factory jobs of the 1950s to the 1970s with good pay, great benefits, and union protections are never coming back.
