Honestly was rooting for him to get third so hard at the end but still a great race and showing for him. Nice redemption after his previous placings in track and XC.
ESPN "clowned" his hair, so now the the commentators should make up for it the next time & say something nice, lol.
Also, Yaseen gives us the break down in the fall. First the Iowa State guy shoved Yaseen, and then Yaseen shoved Parker Wolfe with that momentum (Yaseen apologizes on the video though); 600 meters on into the race, the same guy from Iowa State goes down.
He's American. I am not sure where he was born but he went to high school in Texas, has Maryland listed as his home state, and has lived in America for a long time.
2:11 on that course, on the day with warm weather, with the pressure of the Olympics and your debut is wild. He either needs to stay with the marathon and do one this fall or every all American in XC should try a marathon right out of college
While he did a great job this season, finishing in 4th place, none of the other guys in the top 10 and few others were afforded the luxury of sitting out the regional meet. The simple fact is that his competitors all had to race a hard 10k just over a week out. His team qualified while he prepared for NCAAs. Not sure if he even traveled to the regional meet which, if not, would be an additional advantage. Great performance by Yaseen and intelligent planning by him and his coach, but I'm placing a faded asterisk beside it. Not a whole one, but the asterisk is there nonetheless.
Pretty sure none of his competitors were recovering from an olympic marathon. All his Paris compatriots that came back to run NYC a little less than a month ago had noticeably diminished results over the second half- and they were all training in the same pace zones, he had to completely switch gears to faster stuff while recovering. Different doesn't always mean unfair.

I’ve been saying this for years but I firmly believe that if you can place top 30 in NCAA XC you very likely have the ability to run a 2:10 marathon and possibly faster. Just look at Matthew Richtman who ran a 2:10 at twin cities this year.

I agree, as long as they're a true distance guy and not a ~3k guy holding on at the end of their range
He didn't represent U.S.A at the Paris Olympics, he ran for another country in 2024. So how is he American? I don't care about dual citizenship...he decided to run for another country (End of American discussion).

I held on to reservations that this board was full of more immature imbeciles than true running fans until my last post. Down voting a response on how the runner Yaseen can be considered American when he as recently as 2-3 months ago ran the PARIS OLYMPICS for another country?
You can't switch Alliances back and forth and choose which country you use your dual citizenship every Olympic/World championship. Right now he choose not to represent the U.S.

A few quick downvotes from a few idiots (probably Astro, Armstronglives, and a couple random anonymous accounts) shouldn’t be an enough to shape your opinion on the population of the site as a whole.
