Seriously, last year losing to an NC State team without Chmiel to this year getting 4th??? They got 3-4 great transfers and didn’t graduate hardly any of their top runners, such a failure
Mike Smith still has the BIGGEST CHOKE IN HISTORY from 2019. He had some of the best runners in the WORLD on that team. Nobody from OSU is as talented as Nur or Grijalva or Beamish.

Still finished 2nd. OSU men in 8th today is in a league of its own for epic chokes.

the difference is even on their worst day the team never quit on each other, they gutted it out, and finished second.
OKSt. was having a bad day, basically gave up, and finished 8th. even Dave Smith said in the post race interview he saw their faces at 2K and they looked defeated.

First of all they lost to NCST a team that had won the last 2 national titles by ONE point last year. As several ppl have alluded to in previous posts - Churchill hasn’t competed lately due to non running health issues- Baloga came back after a big interruption in training. Stearns came back after a big interruption in training. Congdon had a small hiccup in training. K Moore had massive improvement from where she started the year running B races. This team ran tough today considering. But go ahead and bash them if it makes you feel better. It was a disaster out there for many many teams - Oregon, Washington, Notre Dame, all finished well back of rankings./expectations. I’ll give the NAU gals props for at least putting themselves out there and leading the team scores for the first 1/2. Then the missed training hindered the finish. Oregon women 4-7 didn’t even look like they tried??

NAU women were ranked 3rd in the nation going into today and finished 4th. not exactly the Yankees blowing a 3-0 series lead to the Red Sox level of chocking.
Oregon massive choke. They got transfer Dalia Frias, who was in top 5 HS runners like 2-3 years ago. Vanished. Why women wearing long sleeves today? Bad coaching?

Shalene Flanagan was really dissapointed. she said when she say them at 2K she knew it was over.
biggest failures of all time? Jeeez. That's a massive overreaction and simply false. Falling short and disappointing results sure, but to use such a hyperbole on these athletes is ridiculous. Remember they are HUMAN and still competing with the 1%
no one talking about Tennessee going from 6th to 26th? Sure they got the new coach but brought in a good class. I'd imagine a rocky shift in training maybe but seems like a huge drop when most of the group still returned.

yeah, she was really disappointed. I feel for her. She had the talent. The race yesterday was a swing and a miss on the team side, they just couldn't pull it together for the big dance.
