This really sucks for the athletes, not sure why this dude is so happy that some children got screwed out of a chance to compete for state but it's messed up
It’s not the coaches / AD of Ayala that are at fault.
The person who really is at fault is whoever assigned the schools to divisions
Damn that's really messed up. It's completely the CIF's fault? If it was me I'd go bandit state or something but I understand that's probably not the smart of dignified way to go about this

Why do you hate Ayala so much?

Even with the correct # of students, they were only 12 over the limit?
Wow. That is quite sad.
I understand the whole ‘legal precedent it would set’ thing, it just would SUCK to be in these high schoolers’ positions. I feel really bad for them.

Let's go Nike. Step up and pick them.
Eh this seems unfair too. It's not like Ayala was a lock for NXN, no reason to punish another one of the possible NXN auto qual/at large teams. They should go do the NXN open division race to prove they deserved it. Unless NXN takes them in addition to the California teams that would've already made it, but they shouldn't go instead of another team, that would be equally unfair.
They won't bump an auto. Nike can pick them as an at large. It is always controversial.
Well yeah but this would be especially controversial. And it would still take away an at large bid from either California teams or NXR teams across the country. Still an unfair compromise.

School administrators are at fault, as it says in the article.
Makes sense to me.

Sadly I do not think they have the argument to make NXN. They are definitely behind Beckman and Jesuit so it would take an at large. The only argument would be if Glendora blows out Jesuit for D2 and then Ayala could have an argument for an at large because they beat Glendora at league championships which would count as a win over an NXN qualifier but still would be unlikely sadly. Footlocker could be an option to have one more postseason race for both the guys and girls. Such a shame.
Or they could go the NXN community race option. Much more expensive but it is a chance to prove themselves on the exact same course on the same day compared to the best teams in the nation.
