Currently 55+ and run 20-30 miles a week depending on the time of the year. I try to do 3 workouts every two weeks just to mix things up and these 3 I find very beneficial I do all these workouts on grass except the hill repeats are on dirt. Here they are:
1. 6x3min w/90 seconds rest. I first did this workout in 1985 and to this day is one of my favorites at my age this is more like a threshold session.
2. 2x8x30-35 seconds with 30 seconds rest. My Vo2Max session that is fun as I get to run a little faster. First did this on a golf course with a sub 4 minute miler back in my high school days. 2min recovery between sets.
3. 2x4x30 second hill with 2:30 jog between efforts 5 minutes between sets. This session works on power.
The rest of my training is 3-4 mile morning runs with a long run of 6 miles on the weekend. Hoping to run sub 18 sometime before I turn 58.
