Rojo says this board is where you can discuss almost anything, as if you were out on a run with other runners. But most of you are annoying, aren’t nearly as interesting as you think you are, and often spoil the silence with your worthless drivel.

What would you like to talk about? So there we are running along a river bank, go ahead start the conversation.
Ah is....Oioi.....the best ya can come up with? Where is that creativity?

Most people here are SLOW runners
Cant keep up anyway
Imagine going for a long run with Rekrunner and ArmstrongLivs?
this board is why you sleep alone
Thanks but your flattery gets you no where with the Savages.
I used to be a happy soul. Exuded positivity, had time for everybody, was looking forward to the future. Then I found letsrun. My eyes were opened to the unjust nature of life and the c*nts i have to share air with. Now, I wake up with a frown, eat breakfast with a scowl, kick pigeons when they dont yield to me on the pavement, mutter hostilities at jogging hobbyists who can't run a 30 minute 5k, rage about runners with a sub 15 5k (to the gills), and resent good looking woman for not having sex with me.
If I could say one thing to those opening letsrun forum for the first time. I would say don't do it, this place is not for you. As gollum said; leave now and never come back.
Can't argue that.
If there is anything that this board has done over the last 20 years its making me continue to love running and really, really hate other runners.
If this is actually whats going through their heads, then this is why I train alone.
Same story here. I used to be such a sweet, sweet thing til they (Letsrun) got ahold of me. I opened doors for little old ladies. I helped the blind to see. Now, I got no friends cuz they read the papers (my message board posts), they can't be seen with me. And I'm gettin' real shot down and I'm feelin' mean!
Can't be anonymous if you're on a run with someone. That's the issue with these boards. People aren't scared to say out of pocket stuff because they're hiding behind a screen.
This Board is the reason I run commando
Mile 1: “A bit nippy this morning. Glad I wore some longer shorts.”
Mile 2: “They were terrible in the fourth quarter! State needs a new defensive coordinator, pronto!”
Mile 4: “…because black guys would rather make rap videos than play hard in crunch time!”
Mile 5: “It takes time to warmup, OK? I don’t wear tights because I ain’t queer!”
Mile 7: “…then the loser asks me for money! I’m like, why? For drugs? Maybe you shouldn’t have spent your cash on someone’s old BDU at Goodwill. Sure, buddy! Now you’re a veteran.”
Mile 9: “How’s your sugar gel, Pete? You want a mimosa to chase that? You idiots with your eating and drinking on long runs! Man up!”
Mile 11: “Clearly a transgender or a drag queen because no real woman can be six feet tall or have big shoulders. Remind me to not use your gym!”
Mile 14: “…so Joe Rogan thinks it’s healthy to…”
Mile 15: “Can we slow it down a bit? I‘m a bit thirsty and starting to bonk.”
Mile 16: “The sport is all African druggies now. Every one of them is on something. Oh, that Asian guy from Farberville that beat me in the Turkey Trot last year? The 50-54 winner? Totally on T! Just look at him! No one can avoid a beer gut after age 40. That’s science!”
Mile 17: “I am 1000% onboard with everything he says! You really think that Trump will make porn illegal? Like, what would be the punishment? Not like I ever watch it to begin with. Just the gay porn, right?”
Mile 19: “WRONG! The schools need more Jesus and less reading in classrooms!”
Mile 20: “Why? Soccer is dumb and my daughter’s team sucks this year. I ain’t missing club runs or any 5Ks for that Euro crap. Her mom can watch her games.”
Finish: “Good run, boys. I’m gonna ice my knees, take some Tylenol, and troll LRC this afternoon. Hey, Dave! Don’t wear them tights downtown or you might find yourself a date with something extra! I crack myself up. Later, losers!”
Have you ever run with a troll , or trolls? Have you ever run with someone that was secretly being paid to be there with you?
Of course not.
That's the difference between running with others and visiting this site.
mannnnn you ain't never met no frank sinatra
Personally I want you to keep a lid on it and just run, and also stop bumping into me and clipping my heels, Galen.
The fact that you think the online world is the same as the real world tells me a lot about you and how people have become warped.
If you want to run solo because that is what you prefer, then you be you. However, there are a lot of fun people to run with out there. Finding them can be a challenge. I struggled for a long time in small cities finding folks who meet all the following criteria:
1) Can or will run at my pace.
2) Will be doing the same sort of run on the same day as I am doing it (although I have moved runs around in cases).
3) Will run at the same time of day. (Sometimes harder to change.)
4) That I enjoy running with.
But I moved to a city big enough and found folk and groups that were enjoyable to run with. Doing long runs with people to me is way more fun than doing them alone (and I am a borderline introvert---which is why I preferred a known group versus just showing up for a random run and not knowing anyone although every group run starts that way.)
Also, I have met folks from the online message board world (not letsrun) and in real life they are far less combative than in their online life.
Seems like a troll's short stride length would be problematic in keeping up on the run.
I laughed, but a ton of (long especially) runs with my club would devolve into pg13 / R rated content midway through. it's basically locker room talk extended over 1.5+ hours. Some mild discussion like sports and women at first, but followed by a ton of sh!talking about sports, gay jokes, political discussion, and health / vaccine topics - think flu shots in the early 2010s
