Doesn’t seem like the right time for this thread, at all. Wisconsin, Washington and Oregon are all good teams who separated themselves from the rest of the 15 team conference with 46/58/58 points respectively. Oregon went 4-5-9 and Simeon Birnbaum ran his best collegiate race yet in 4th, 10 seconds behind 13:09 guy Bob Liking and 0.3 behind Nathan Green. They ran well! Then there’s the women, who dominated with 33 points including 1-2 for Ayyildiz and Elmore. This meet should actually inspire confidence that the “Jerry experiment” is coming along nicely.
Huh? Constant harping? I’ve been a Duck fan since the 80’s. They’ll be fortunate to make the top 10 teams in Wisconsin. What they’ve got is not working- anyone with two non biased eyeballs can see that. The amount of talent that has been burned in the last 3 years is shocking.

2nd in conference is not going “well” with the kind of talent there in Eugene. 2nd at NCAAs is going “well”. Schumacher (Jerry, anyway) has nothing to do with the women.
5 runners in the top 12 was pretty impressive. I think they got an outside shot at title but a lot of things would have to fall in place. BYU looks very good. I do think it’s more wide open this year and maybe 5-6 teams have a chance.
I really didn’t watch the women’s race very closely. I do know that Ayilldaz will be an absolute killer over 1500m this coming track season, and Flanagan has really resurrected Elmore. Barnett with a really solid performance for a 1500m runner as well (8th?-ish).

What was your take?
I am not going to make a judgment about U of O women until nationals. However, it seems Shalane is doing a good job, esp. for someone who allegedly only held the stopwatch at BTC.
I think if her team has sustained success, she can make the case to be the head of an entire program either at U of O or elsewhere.
Where does your constant harping on Oregon go from here is a better question.
Looks like it’s time for you and your handful of friends to either move on or find a new target.
swoosh.

You might have been a fan of Oregon forty years ago…but you sure aren’t one now.
The Ducks haven’t won a conference championship (Pac12 or Big10) since 2008. since that time they’ve had Lannana and Ben Thomas as coaches…and Cooper Teare, Cole Hocker, Centro and a whole host of talent. So what in particular about this young group who are trending up is making you lose your sh!t? If you were truly such an avid supporter, you’d see what’s going on at Oregon instead of joining in with the handful of Jerry haters who just can’t help themselves to a glass half empty drink of vinegar.
