I don’t know who would have been worse had they won- Jakob or Kerr. Both seem like insufferable, arrogant prîcks. Winning would have boosted that into turbo mode.

confidence is required to put yourself in the mix at that level and the line between confidence and arrogance is pretty thin. Id even say Hocker has some arrogance about him. Nuguse is pretty unique among top 1500 competitors in that i dont think hes very arrogant.
I like the added drama of having 4-5 guys at the top. When I watch the 1500, I think Jakob is going to win. But I am not sure he will. This makes the races more interesting.
Here is a question someone asked a while back, "Do you think Hocker will ever win a race that has Nuguse, Jakob, and Kerr in it?"
I honestly don't know if those stars will ever align again.

It's not even about confidence - it's how much they're genuinely embarrassing themselves to the point of delusion, on and off the track. Neither of them deserved that gold, let alone Medal - and at least Jakob didn't. Big man baby who just makes excuses every time he races like crap
Hocker is anything but arrogant - and the reason why is because unlike Kerr and Jakob, he keeps sh!t real. He stands by his words and he is honest. Doesn't start drama for no reason and races like a champ.
Agreed. I'm not a Hocker fan but his victory was worlds preferable to all the insufferable articles and documentaries accompanying Kerr gold and his 5 year plan, or whatever it was.

It was awesome in terms of the “story” of the 1500 right now. People were treating the 1500 like it was Jakob vs. Josh and Cole and Yared splitting them up was great for the sport. I only wish Yared had an extra .02 of a second and he and Cole could’ve gone 1-2.
After all the back and forth between Josh and Jakob neither of them had an answer for Cole Hocker’s kick. It might be one of the most exciting 1500 championship races ever with one of the most satisfying conclusions
What is pure arrogance is believing and publicly stating that 'Jesus pushed me over the line'.
I'd rather have Kerr or Jakob being 'arrogant' because they know their talent and hard work has made them the best.
He's right though - God looked at the beef between Jakob/Kerr and said "that's not right". He used Cole Hocker to humble both of them. Now that God's plan has been put into motion Cole Hocker can go back to not winning anything important ever. At least until Jakob or Josh open their stupid mouths again.
