Agnes Ngetich narrowly misses world record at Valencia half marathon

Ngetich's time, 1:03:04, was #2 all time.

Fotyen Tesfay of Ethiopia was second in 1:03:21, the #3 time ever.

LLian Kasait of Kenya was third in 1:03:32, the #4 time ever.

That's just nuts. Remember a whole month ago when Gidey's record was the untouchable one? Now it seems certain to fall in the next year or two.

Glad Gidey's record still stands, but it got a good scare today. Hopefully she'll come back soon, seeing the times others are running makes me think she could take a significant chunk off her own record if she really goes for it.

Running is not a jury sport, but Gidey's running is poetry in motion.

I think Ngetich broke Gideys 15km worlds best record today en route to the finish. But yes I hope Gidey gets to keep her HM record for sometime to come. She runs beautifully and is a joy to watch. - Not so Ngetich who waves her arms around like she is conducting an orchestra.

She did! 44:15 to Gidey's 44:20! But I doubt if it is eligible.
