New Balance's Mark Coogan isn't satisfied with getting just Parker Valby - He wants Parker Wolfe as well

Does New Balance sponsor any male distance runner currently? I've always associated them with signing top females but I don't recall seeing many men?

I had a team mate run pro and had a meeting with New Balance. Granted this was a while ago but he was basically told we sponsor athletes to sell things. Distance men don’t sell things. Fast, attractive women? They sell lots of products for us.

They follow the money. The New Balance line up for years and stayed PRETTY consistent.

Kinda odd that he is calling his shot on wolfe when there is another distance phenom is his backyard with blanks. And he already has a NB NIL as well. Maybe he knows blanks already has his eyes set elsewhere?

NB also has NIL deals with Daniel Simmons, Tinoda Matsatsa, Drew Griffith, and Quincy Wilson (not sure how many plan to go pro soon - most likely Wilson will be)

Training in Boston is terrible for Distance running and he would have no training partners. Parker Wolfe would be an idiot to run for New Balance.

Do you realize that Coogan's son currently runs for UNC? There is a decent connection between Parker Wolf and Coogan already. They have been teammates for years - I'm sure it has be brought up on a run or two.

He's clearly a NIMBY. No, I'm sure he'd want someone like Blanks as well, but the name pairing of Parker and Parker was too good to pass up in the interview.

But he needs to get training partners for Wolfe. An all female team is not enticing.

Yea, Coogan has a relationship with Wolfe due to his son running at UNC. But, NB focuses on women, the men they have brought on are essentially pacers for the women. Not a place to go to improve if you are a guy. Plus, there are much better places es to live and train than Boston.

Even ESP spends more time in VT than she does in Boston.

Actually you have it backwards. Parker Wolfe is already with Nike. Graham already with NB.
